Paterson Legacy GO Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

Effective October 15, 2026. Applies to Paterson Legacy GO and Paterson Legacy GO Explore. Operator: Paterson Juneteenth Foundation, separate from Onyx Repository Foundation. Contact: Patersonjuneteenth@gmail.com. This is a community program, not an official government app.

Eligibility: 18 and older

You must be at least 18. Online registration requires an accurate self-declared date of birth and rejects under-18 dates. This is not identity verification. Under-18 and guardian enrollment is closed; guardian approval cannot override eligibility. Existing under-18 accounts are restricted from participation and accounts missing a date of birth must complete the eligibility check. Existing birth-date corrections require support review. Safety reporting, privacy requests and deletion assistance remain available regardless of eligibility. All participants, media contributors and public team leaders must be 18 or older. Under-18 accounts cannot join activities. Do not enroll younger children through another account. Follow any additional local-law or event-specific age and supervision requirements.

Offline Android Explore

Offline lessons, practice quiz and checklist do not submit results, require an account or request location, camera or notification permissions. Session state may survive screen recreation. A 18+ eligibility declaration is stored only on the device and removed by clearing app data; online registration checks eligibility separately.

Online information and uses

Online features process name, email, username/account ID, credentials, self-declared date of birth and age group, role, ward, neighborhood, preferences and interests for authentication, eligibility and account management. Participation may create attendance, QR/check-in, mission, puzzle, points, impact, reward/redemption, team, dispute and consent records for verification, program administration and fraud prevention. Eligible adults may upload evidence and oral-history content for review. Safety reports contain the message and optional reply email you submit for moderation and support.

One-time precise location and accuracy may be requested with a disclosure to verify an activity. You may decline; location-dependent verification will not proceed. Scavenger hunts do not automatically track a team’s movements. Hosting and verification services may process IP addresses, security logs and device/session signals for delivery and abuse prevention. Do not submit unnecessary sensitive information.

Visibility and services

Account administration, safety reports and verification evidence are restricted to authorized staff and reviewers. Approved community submissions, adult rankings and public team/business details may be visible to others. You may opt out of individual rankings. Under-18 accounts and accounts without an eligibility date are excluded from public individual rankings, uploads, team participation and leadership. Obtain permission from people pictured before uploading.

The online service uses WordPress and Hostinger hosting, email delivery, Leaflet distributed through unpkg and OpenStreetMap map services. Requests can disclose network information to these services. Data uses include functionality, account management, verification, security and moderation. We do not sell account information or use app account data for behavioral advertising. Partner offers and program sponsorship may appear. The whole app is not offline and does collect data when online.

Retention

Account and participation records remain while needed for program operation, verification, disputes and legal obligations. Precise GPS and detailed QR signals follow configured verification-retention schedules; nonidentifying aggregate statistics may remain. Historical child and guardian records are protected and remain eligible for deletion review: changing the audience does not erase or authorize new uses of them.

The Foundation has adopted rolling backup retention of 30 days and removal of identifying safety-report information 90 days after case closure, unless a documented legal, safeguarding or fraud-investigation hold requires longer retention. Active reports remain until reviewed and closed. Backup access is restricted; backups are not selectively edited in place and deletions must be reapplied after a restoration. Holds must be reviewed when their purpose ends. These are committee-administered procedures, not a promise that sending a request immediately erases every copy.

Access, correction and deletion

Open More → Account & Support or the account-deletion page. Authenticate and follow the password and deletion-confirmation steps. This removes the shared Foundation website account, covered app records and owned uploads and may affect other website features using that login. Review the confirmation carefully. Legally justified safety, fraud or dispute records may remain under the retention rules.

If you cannot sign in, submit a request using the public reporting form or contact email. Staff verify account ownership and, for historical child records, the authority of the requester before disclosure or deletion. A request is not immediate deletion. Ask the committee for the status of your request and any retention exception.

The Foundation committee monitors safety and privacy requests. Ravon Robeson or Rodney Addison are the safety contacts. Use More → Safety & Privacy, the public reporting form, or Patersonjuneteenth@gmail.com. For immediate danger contact emergency services; this is not an emergency service. Do not send passwords, identification documents or suspected child sexual abuse material with a report.

Material policy changes are published here and require renewed online consent before participation.
